Six freelancers, over twenty accounts, in-house hires, an actual office. From the outside it looked like exactly the kind of scaled, boutique business you want to grow into, and I hated it.
I'd scaled by adding. More clients, more people, more moving parts, all stacked on foundations that were never built to carry that weight.
